Exterior Restoration of Bishop Gooden Home
Help us meet our goal!
An exciting project will soon be underway in Pasadena’s Playhouse District — the restoration of the historic exterior of the Bishop Gooden Home — and you can help make it happen.
Built in 1894, it is an architectural gem in a Pasadena neighborhood known for its architecture, one of the neighborhood’s last surviving Victorian residences. Since 1962, The Gooden Center has been a safe haven where people can escape the ravages of substance use disorder and begin putting their lives back together.
The needed repairs to the shingles and wood clapboard siding and painting of the exterior are expected to take six months, and the house will re-emerge in the fall of 2024, looking better than it has in generations. The planned renovation will not only preserve its character-defining features, but will make it comfortable and livable for years to come.
With your help, The Gooden Center can reach this goal and continue the work we’ve set out to do in this campaign.
